Network Resilience
Protection mode is a set of connection presets designed to help GigaTap work on restrictive or unstable networks. It does not mean every network will allow a VPN connection.
What Protection mode can adjust
Depending on the selected profile and platform, Protection mode may use options such as traffic fragmentation, padding, alternative transports or fingerprints, and DNS-over-HTTPS. The goal is to improve connection success on difficult networks while keeping the app simple to operate.
Modes
- Off: use the normal profile behavior.
- Automatic: let the app choose a suitable resilience profile when a network looks difficult.
- Manual: choose a specific resilience profile yourself.
How to use it
- Try the normal connection first.
- If the network is unstable or repeatedly fails, switch Protection mode to Automatic.
- Retry the connection.
- If you already know which profile works best on the current network, use Manual mode.
- Run Diagnostics if the app still cannot connect.
For general access setup, see VPN Setup.
