Backup & Transfer

The GigaTap app can export and import configs and settings when you need a backup or want to move setup to another device.

When to use backup

• Before reinstalling the app.
• Before changing devices.
• Before cleaning local app data.
• When you need a known working configuration saved outside the app.

Export safely

1. Export configs and settings from the app.
2. Store the backup in a private location.
3. Do not upload the backup to public chats or shared folders.
4. Keep old backups only while they are still useful.

Import on another device

1. Install the GigaTap app on a supported platform.
2. Import the backup file.
3. Refresh subscriptions or server lists after import.
4. Connect and verify IP/DNS behavior.
5. Run Diagnostics if the restored setup does not connect.
