First Run & Import
This page covers the first GigaTap app setup: adding your source, importing a profile, refreshing the server list, and making the first connection.
Before you import
- Confirm that your GigaTap access is active in the Mini App or Universal Web App.
- Install the GigaTap app for Windows, Linux, or Android when it is offered for your platform.
- Copy the current subscription/config link, scan the QR code, or save the config file from the GigaTap flow.
Import steps
- Open the add source or import screen.
- Choose link, QR, or file.
- Import the GigaTap subscription or supported config.
- Refresh the server list.
- Keep Smart Connection enabled for automatic server choice, or choose a server manually.
- Connect and verify that browsing and DNS work as expected.
If import fails
- Re-copy the full link and retry.
- Check that the file or QR code came from the current GigaTap flow.
- Update the app before retrying old import material.
- Try file import if the link or QR path is unreliable.
- Open Connection Problems if import works but the connection does not.
